Getting the heat right
When you’re drying wood, it’s a balancing act. You want that moisture gone fast, but you can’t be scorching the surface. We spec our tubes for high wattage density to create a steep temperature gradient. What that means for you is a nearly instant jump to operating temperature. No more waiting around for things to warm up. Just a quick ramp-up and you’re moving. Just make sure your power supply can handle the wattage, or you’ll burn them out way too soon.
The gear inside
We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating. Rapid cycling creates a lot of thermal shock, and cheap glass just cracks. We stick with shortwave IR. Why? Because it digs deeper into the wood fibers. It pushes the moisture from the core out to the surface rather than just baking the outside. No headaches during install
You shouldn’t have to rip out your wiring or rebuild your entire rack just to swap a lamp. Our tubes use standard footprints and connectors. They’re basically plug-and-play. You slide them in, hook them up, and you’re back in business. Simple.
One thing to watch out for
Here is the catch: high-output tubes put a lot of stress on your reflector housings. To actually get your money’s worth, you’ve got to keep those reflectors polished. If they get oxidized and dull, the heat bounces right back into the tube. That’s a shortcut to a dead lamp. Do yourself a favor and check your housings every 500 hours. A little cleaning goes a long way in keeping your output steady.
